ContextAuchan is one of the French leaders in retail, part of the Mulliez Family Association. Its stores are located all over the world, which makes it a reference in the field. As part of the standardization of its e-commerce offer, Auchan wants to develop order preparation directly from the shelves of its stores, for thoses that do not have a Drive service.
ChallengeThe complexity of this project is to offer an order preparation similar to what is carried out in Drive, while taking into account the typology of each store whose sizes and organizations vary. The tool must integrate a concept of modular mapping to optimize the preparation route according to the details and specificities of each store. Preparation is carried out using Zebra scanner mobile terminals which can operate offline. Ergonomics is also an important issue to facilitate massive deployment in France and then in Europe..
SolutionThe solution developed by Kbrw is order preparation software. Orders are prepared in an optimized manner according to the organization of the store, stored following the temperature constraints, then delivered to the customer. The solution has a computer-based administration module, and an operational module integrated into Zebra scanners that are able to work offline. The application manages all the business constraints related to order preparation, for example with the management of missing items and substitutions. Finally, the tool developed makes it possible to monitor key activity indicators, centrally and for each store.
ResultsThe solution developed by Kbrw optimizes order preparation, following Auchan's digital transformation. This application is gradually being deployed in more than 200 stores of the brand in France, and aims to expand into Europe.
