ContextWith the goal of improving the way replenishment orders were taken and processed for their B2B customers in areas of growth, Michelin asked Kbrw to create an order placement tool allowing orders to be taken from a web portal or via a System-to-System approach.
ChallengesGiven that the existing information system left little room for manoeuvre, Kbrw had to tackle several complex and technical challenges. Kbrw had to retrieve Michelin’s product catalogue and order backlog, and set up the interconnections needed to interact directly with the group’s ERP. The new tool also had to allow orders to be placed using files, from one ERP to another.
SolutionKbrw developed a comprehensive order placement portal for Michelin, designed for its B2B customers. The portal incorporates the digitization of customer agreements, which define the offers and capacities for each Michelin customer, to modernize the order confirmation process which had been manual up to that point.
OutcomeThe project was rolled out successfully in Thailand, where five of the company’s local key accounts were connected up to the portal in just six months. The tool is set to be deployed in the company’s other growth areas, using the same solution template.
